Burgers, BBQ, Beer

Disclosure: I was provided with free tickets to this event to help facilitate my review. I was not compensated for this post. All words and opinions are 100% honest and my own.

This years Culinaria ended on a Sunday afternoon downtown at the gorgeous Pearl Brewery.

The 90+ degree San Antonio heat did nothing to deter the crowds to this fun, relaxed event.

The Hubbs and I brought all our minis in tow to this family, and pet friendly, event, and even though we showed up about 20 minutes early, there was already a line formed of eager burger, BBQ & beer lovers.

Grills were fired up and chefs were flipping patties away trying to keep up with the hungry crowds there to sample a dozen or so restaurants’ interpretations of the classic burger.

Try as we might, the hubbs and I filled up way too fast and didn’t even get to sample half of what was offered!

After about 2 hours of the heat and crowds, the minis were restless and admitting burger defeat, we headed home.

For those of you thinking Culinaria is just a haute cuisine foodie week, this event would change your mind. With the smell of grilled burgers and the ice cold beer, this is the perfect backyard BBQ amplified!

Culinaria really does offer something for everyone and every taste.

The week of foodie goodness spoiled me. I’m now expecting 10 course meals of anything my taste buds could want, with accompanying bottles of bottomless wine of course!

Grand tasting

Culinaria, San Antonio’s foodie event of the year, likes to finish off the week of events in style. The Grand Tasting.

Held at the Grotto at the Henry B. Gonzales, this food lovers event, which features a VIP room, is the type where heels and ties are the typical attire of the night.

The free flowing wine and samplings of some of the most delicious bites you’ll taste draw the crowds in to this sold out night.

Some of San Antonio’s top note worthy chefs including Chef Jason Dady & Chef John Russ, were showing off their culinary skills with enticing and innovative cuisine.

My favorites of the night were Chef Dady’s brain child of Mexican street corn and a salmon mousse in a green tea cone from Kirby’s.

Numerous restaurants displayed their best and I kept going back for 2nd’s of my favorites, which left me too full to sample everything offered! I broke my first rule of Culinaria, wear something loose so you can eat!

Besides the food, the events of the night included a silent auction, live band, and photo booth picture fun. Arcade even brought along the famous Zoltar to tell fortunes. I hear he’s never wrong!
