champagne is delicious, gorgeous shoes are a must, family fun in important, but the piggy bank still has to be fed
Save on trips to the nail salon by learning some simple, yet creative, ways to do fun manicure yourself!
This week, I’ve done, what i’m calling, double frenched tips. It’s a play on the traditional white french tips. I’ve done black tips, with a white accent line.
The 3 polishes I used for this look (black, white and clear top coat) were all purchased at my local dollar store. So for $3, I got a very cute manicure! The white polish came with the artsy thin brush to do lines and designs so it made it very easy! Use my secret to getting a perfect french manicure, and then use the thin brush to trace right over that line to get is as close to perfect as possible. Then, using the same supplies, try the tuxedo nail art. So many choices and designs you can do with just the $3 worth of supplies!
Don’t forget to check out your dollar store to see what they have in stock! The best of life doesn’t have to come at the highest of prices.

After putting the kids to bed last night, I decided to give myself a manicure. I riled through my stash of polishes but didn’t see anything I liked; you know the feeling, right? So I decided to glitter dip my nails!
Remember the glitter I had from my DIY glitter shoes, well I got that out and dusted away!
I’m so satisfied with the results!
These babies are full of sparkle and begging to be shown off, the pictures don’t really do them justice. The shine is so much more power packed and concentrated than glitter polishes. These babies aren’t chipping any time soon, and as a working mom of 3 (ages 8, 2 and 3 months) my average manicure lasts a whole 6 hours or so before they start showing signs of wear! This manicure feels like a good coat of shellac, but without the price of it!
I’m thinking full on girly pink next time 🙂
