DIY manicure of the week: breast cancer pink ribbon

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, I decided to do a pink ribbon manicure.  Nothing to fancy, but straight to the point.  The next day, I was already getting compliments on it and people were asking me what salon was doing the breast cancer awareness pink ribbon’s.

Basic french tips with one full white nail to make sure the pink ribbon has a background that it’ll stand out on.  I’ll have to perfect the ribbon and make something a little fancier.  But what do you think? What unexpected ways do you wear your breast cancer ribbon?

DIY manicure of the week: double frenched tips

Save on trips to the nail salon by learning some simple, yet creative, ways to do fun manicure yourself!

This week, I’ve done, what i’m calling, double frenched tips.  It’s a play on the traditional white french tips.  I’ve done black tips, with a white accent line.

The 3 polishes I used for this look (black, white and clear top coat) were all purchased at my local dollar store. So for $3, I got a very cute manicure! The white polish came with the artsy thin brush to do lines and designs so it made it very easy! Use my secret to getting a perfect french manicure, and then use the thin brush to trace right over that line to get is as close to perfect as possible.  Then, using the same supplies, try the tuxedo nail art.  So many choices and designs you can do with just the $3 worth of supplies!

Don’t forget to check out your dollar store to see what they have in stock! The best of life doesn’t have to come at the highest of prices.

champagne is delicious, gorgeous shoes are a must, family fun is important, but the piggy bank still has to be fed 😉
